LANCASHIRE MONOCHROME was founded in 1996 as a discussion forum open to any photographer committed to the monochrome print. It is not an elitist group but a meeting of varying ability, styles and specialisms. The majority of its members also subscribe to a camera club or photographic society, finding the two adding value to each other and being complementary in their range of activity.

LANCASHIRE MONOCHROME meet on the first Monday of every month (or on the second Monday when the first is a Bank Holiday). Meetings are conducted in a non-competitive environment dedicated to:

* Cultivating a high standard of work in the medium
* A sharing of photographic knowledge and skills
* Promoting a deeper understanding of monochrome
* Encouraging members to participate in the practice of monochrome
* Providing information in the most accessible way
* Being supportive of each member widening his or her horizons.

Membership of Leyland and Farington Social Club – Keith suggested that members simply allow this to lapse.

Membership of RAFA – Dave Fleming provided membership cards for all current members of LM.

Key Note Speaker –  The Autumn speaker, Trevor Griffiths, had been restricted by the limited technology available at L&F Social Club.  The Spring date is expected to be the third Sunday in March, the venue will depend on the requirements of the speaker, yet to be confirmed, and the availability of the RAFA club.  There is a possibility that Keith’s connections with UCLA for the Preston Guild may allow access to the university’s facilities.
